If you missed the Question and Answer on today's Miss Universe 2011, like I did, here is the script of the the judges’ questions and contestants’ answers.
Miss Ukraine Olesia Stefanko: If you could trade lives with anyone in history, who would you choose and why? She uses a translator and says she’s "very satisfied" with her life. But if she had to choose someone she would pick Cleopatra because she’s a "powerful and strong woman who is very much worthy of respect…and I think a woman can also be a leader like Cleopatra."
Miss Philippines Shamcey Supsup: Would you change your religious beliefs to marry someone with an opposite view? She says no, "because the first person I love is God, who created me…if that person loves me, he should love my God too."
Miss China Luo Zilin: Lots of places have nude beaches. Is public nudity appropriate or inappropriate? She uses a translator and says, "Every country has its rules and regulations…We should respect them and be more understanding." Um, huh?
Miss Brazil Priscila Machado: How would you avoid fighting a war you don’t agree with? She uses a translator and emphasizes the importance of respect. "No war is based on respect…It’s always based on misunderstanding, it’s always based on a lack of education."
Miss Angola Leila Lopes: If you could change one of your physical characteristics, which one would you choose and why? She uses a translator and says, "I wouldn’t change a thing." She says she was "endowed with inner beauty." She adds, "I have my principles. I have acquired many wonderful principles from my family." Then, she wants to offer a piece of advice: "Respect one another." However, she ran out of time.

Miss Columbia Catalina Robayo on "No underwear" Scandal
2011 Miss Universe candidate, Miss Columbia - Catalina Robayo, has reportedly appeared in official engagements without any underwear.

Miss Columbia has been reprimanded by the organizers because of this scandal, this is the first such controversy for Miss Universe to have a contestant not wearing underwear.
According to Paula Shugart, President of the Miss Universe Organization, “Colombia had to be spoken to and told she needed to wear underpants as what she was doing was totally inappropriate… People have been pretty upset by it; there have been photos and media appearances where she has completely had her crotch out.”
“There were several girls in short dresses which caused concern, but when I saw the (commando) picture on the front page of one of the local papers I was very, very surprised,” Shugart said.
“Our supervisors talked to all of the contestants about dressing appropriately, and one of our PR people spoke to her (Robayo) and apparently she said she was wearing underwear. But regardless, it created quite a stir here for a few days,” she added.

Nestle Banana Baby Food Recall
A consumer detected a piece of glass in a container and immediately informed the food company. Nestle France voluntarily recalled the said batch of baby food as a precautionary measure.
The bar code on the said recalled products are 7 613033089732, batch number L 10980295 with an expiration date of October 2012.
Nestle already given their statement and confirmed that the product batch was only sold in France and no other product was affected by this recall.
I know my friend does not mean to propagate this bogus (unless you are living in France), she might thought she is doing the right thing.
Lesson learned - if anything comes up like this, it is better to copy and paste it on your search engine first and do your research like I did!

Muesli Cereals
I have started eating muesli since last week. I'm a nut and oat lover so this really fits my taste buds. I got interested how it was developed and its health benefits so I researched and created this article.

Muesli (pronounced as myüs-le) is a breakfast cereal developed in the late 19th century by Maximilian Bircher-Benner. A Swiss physician and nutritional researcher, who changed the eating habits of many people in Europe. Instead of much meat and white bread, he encourage them to eat fruits, vegetables and nuts with moderate exercise including walking and gardening daily. His original recipe was rolled oats, lemon juice, cream, apple and nuts. It was prescribed to his patients in his hospital. Modern versions can include nuts, dried fruits, seeds, berries and honey. It is now widely available not only in health food store but also in grocery stores. Muesli is best serve with skimmed milk.
Now, let me give you the nutritional values of various food ingredients in muesli.
Oats - It is a significant source of dietary fiber and Vitamin B1. Oats are also a good source of magnesium, selenium, manganese and phosphorous. The protein content of oats is almost equivalent to the quality of soy protein. It contains a type of fiber called beta glucans that helps to lower down bad cholesterol. Oats are most effective when consumed as part of a low-fat, high-fiber diet. It also promotes feeling full that can help as part of a weight loss or control diet.
Dried fruits - Dried fruits will retain or even increase all the nutrients present in fruits. It is infused with vitamins, minerals, fiber, iron, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, sugar and others. It also helps in cleansing the system as an antioxidant agent. This keeps a person healthy and free of diseases such as bladder and skin problem.
Nuts and seeds - There are friendly nuts and seeds that are mono-saturated with fats and make you feel full and satisfied. It is rich in fiber and protein that provides many of vitamins B, E and other essential minerals including selenium, zinc, magnesium and phosphorous.
So Muesli is definitely healthy and a good way to start your day!!!

Free Lunch Today!
I am on a diet today so I brought my muesli cereals here in the office for my lunch. But the muesli diet has gone... our managers treat us for lunch. We ordered 1 big bilao of Spaghetti at Amber's Golden Plate Restaurant and 2 boxes of 20" Thin Crust Shakey's Pizza (Shakey's Special and Managers Choice).
I enjoyed the yummy pinoy style spaghetti from Amber's, it's my all time favorite!
The Shakey's Managers Choice and Shakey's Special Pizza taste the same. Both pizza is loaded with ham, beef, italian sausage, green bell pepper and onions. They just added mushroom pieces on the Shakey's Special.
The pizza was too salty for me but how can I complaint when it's FREE... so I end up eating 2 slices of Pizza and full plate of spaghetti.

Genealogy Work
On Feburary 2011, I started working on our genealogy and I can't explain the joy it brings me. I was able to obtain the names and other details of my ancestors who have died. I believe that it is my responsibility to find them and preserve our family history. I used two websites - https://new.familysearch.org and https://familysearch.org to help me find them.

I asked my living relatives for the information I needed and as soon as they found out that I am doing our genealogy they cooperated without hesitations.
Some of them are still in my memory... I can still remember their names and faces...
I know many of them are now waiting for me, to be on my list...
I want my ancestors to know how much I love them and how they are important to me. Working our family history is a great opportunity to know them and meet them by heart. I did not get a chance to meet some of them but this great work allows me to do so.
As the song says "Families can be together forever...", I know that the heaven will cooperate and help me fulfill this marvelous work.

Makati Jollijeep
The name comes from the words "Jollibee" (the popular Philippine fastfood chain) and "Jeepney" (the Philippine mass transportation). The famous "Jollijeep" is a familiar metal cubes on wheels along the side streets of Makati Central Business District.

Jollijeep offers food that are much cheaper and with more variety for breaksfast, lunch and snacks. With less than 50 pesos you can get a full meal with a rice, one viand and a desert. This is where you can see long-sleeved and high-heeled employees eat standing (because it doesn't have any table or chair). Here you have to eat quickly to make a way for the next hungry person. They serve your foods in paper plates, plastic utensils or anything that minimize the dish-washing.
If you gets hungry in the afternoon, instead of rice meals you can buy turon (banana lumpia), banana cue (fried banaan with brown sugar on a stick), noodles, congee or local rice cakes.
As far as I know, these Jollijeeps follow the sanitary standards imposed by the city government so I can say it is safe to eat here!
Thanks to www.sleekinthecity.com for the picture.

A Very Annoying Orange
Many people go crazy over this hilarious annoying orange. My son watched it every night and try to imitate how this crazy orange talks especially how orange says BORING and the "tongue thing".

I can't help myself laughing while I am watching him in youtube. Orange annoys all his friends such as:
Midget Apple
Passion Fruit
Cheese
Cabbage
Pear
Wazzzbbbbiiii
Rapberry
Teenage mutant ninja apple
Lady Pasta
TOE-may-TOE
Granpa Lemon
Grapefruit
Marshmallow
And many more...
And for those Harry Potter fans, they also released the "Orange Potter and the Deathly Apple".

Jollibee Chicken Nugget Crunchers Review
My not-so-big family went to the salon this evening. After that my son asked for a treat, lucky for me we have Jollibee Guadalupe near our place. We ordered the new Jollibee Chicken Nugget Crunchers ala carte which cost Php 75.00.

As advertised, it is a delicious and nutritious nuggets with carrot bits. We all know that always eating in a fast food was never healthy but this treat sure have a great-taste and contains Vitamins A which helps improve eye sight.
I can say that I felt the crunchy goodness in every bites as promised because it was served hot. I wonder if it still taste good after a few minutes unlike other nuggets. The nugget shapes adds more fun as my son dipped it to its sweet, flavorful barbecue sauce.
As I expected my husband did not enjoyed it. He is not into eating nuggets at all!
When I asked him how it taste, he said he felt like eating a paper...
At least, my son and I enjoyed it.
